Role Overview

UK Hose is growing quickly, and we are looking for a Regional Controller to join our team, based at our Head Office in Ipswich, Suffolk.

This is a key operational role at the centre of our regional service delivery. You will be responsible for coordinating our mobile hydraulic engineers, routing them efficiently to customer jobs, keeping customers updated, and making sure every job is processed accurately from start to finish.

UK Hose is the largest independently owned hose and hydraulic breakdown business in the UK. We are continuing to invest in our people, systems, tools and facilities, and this role is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing business with a strong track record of developing people from within.

The Role

As Regional Controller, you will help make sure our engineers are in the right place at the right time, customers are kept informed, and jobs are completed and processed accurately.

This is a fast-paced, office-based role that requires strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

      • Planning and routing mobile engineers to customer breakdowns, service jobs and planned work.
      • Prioritising jobs based on customer requirements, location, urgency and engineer availability.
      • Liaising directly with customers to provide updates on engineer ETAs, job progress and completion.
      • Supporting engineers throughout the day with job information, customer details and operational queries.
      • Monitoring live job activity and making adjustments where priorities change.
      • Helping ensure customers receive a professional, responsive and reliable service.
      • Supporting the reporting of engineer performance, including job completion, productivity and service levels.
      • Reviewing job cards, paperwork and supporting information to ensure details are accurate.
      • Making sure job information is processed correctly for invoicing, reporting and customer records.
      • Working closely with regional management, engineers and customer service teams to improve service delivery.

Relevant Experience

We are looking for someone who has experience in a busy coordination, planning, customer service or operations support role.

Relevant experience could include:

      • Scheduling, routing or dispatching mobile engineers, drivers or field-based teams.
      • Working in a service desk, transport office, operations office or customer support environment.
      • Coordinating breakdowns, reactive jobs or planned service work.
      • Speaking directly with customers and providing clear, confident updates.
      • Handling job sheets, paperwork, service reports or operational administration.
      • Using CRM, job management, transport, field service or scheduling systems.
      • Working under pressure and making decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Experience in hydraulics is not essential, but experience in field service, engineering, transport, plant hire, construction, material handling, facilities management or a similar operational environment would be beneficial.

What We're Looking For

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple jobs at once.
  • Confident speaking to customers and engineers.
  • Calm under pressure and able to make quick, sensible decisions.
  • Clear, professional and proactive in their communication.
  • Comfortable working in a busy office environment.
  • Accurate with paperwork, job details and system updates.
  • Able to prioritise work based on urgency, geography and customer need.
  • A strong team player who takes ownership and follows through.
  • Focused on delivering excellent customer service.

What We Offer

  • A key role in a growing regional operation.
  • The opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and regional leaders.
  • A supportive team environment.
  • Investment in systems, tools and facilities.
  • A business with an excellent track record of developing people internally.
  • The chance to play a central role in delivering a high-quality customer service.
